Imperial Beach, CA (August 1, 2024) – A motorcyclist died after being struck by a pickup in Imperial Beach Thursday morning, a sheriff’s official said.
The man, who was in his 20s, was hit by a Ford F-150 at the intersection of Donax Avenue and 13th Street shortly before 8:30 a.m., sheriff’s spokesperson Kimberly King said. Deputies began CPR on the rider, who wasn’t breathing or conscious. He died before he could be taken to a hospital, King said.
The name of the man was not released. King said that the driver of the truck remained at the crash location and was cooperating with deputies. The Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the collision. Anyone with information about the incident was asked to call the sheriff’s substation in Imperial Beach. No further information was immediately available, but an inquiry is still ongoing at this time.
