San Diego, CA (August 15, 2025) – A collision in the Sabre Springs neighborhood claimed the lives of two people early Friday, August 15, following a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV, authorities said.
San Diego Police said the crash happened at the intersection of Poway Road and Sabre Springs Parkway shortly after midnight when an 18-year-old woman riding a Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on Poway Road was involved in a crash with a Mitsubishi Montero SUV.
First responders declared the 18-year-old motorcyclist dead at the scene. The SUV driver was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. An investigation is ongoing; however, anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information about the incident is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers.
