San Diego, CA (February 9, 2025) – A multi-vehicle collision on westbound Interstate 8 near San Diego State University resulted in the death of a man, who was identified on Sunday, February 9.
Tobin Alan Armstrong, 43, was identified as the deceased, the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office said on its website. A pickup truck stalled on the left shoulder of westbound I-8, located just east of the Waring Road off-ramp, before causing an apparent chain-reaction collision.
Armstrong was pronounced dead at the site, though it’s unclear if anybody else was injured. However, per officials, the investigation continues, and no further details were released.
