San Diego, CA (June 4, 2025) – One person is dead and three others are injured after a car crash in Pacific Beach on Wednesday night, officials said.
The collision was reported just before 10:00 p.m. on Grand Avenue near Mission Bay Drive, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. A 21-year-old man was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Corvette southbound on Mission Bay Drive at a high rate of speed, and a 32-year-old female was driving a 2018 Jeep Cherokee northbound on the same road.
The 32-year-old Jeep driver made a turn onto Grand Avenue, and as they were crossing the southbound lanes of Mission Bay Drive, the Corvette failed to stop at the red light and impacted the Jeep, according to police. The Corvette passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The Corvette driver sustained some fractures, and the Jeep driver and passenger also suffered injuries. San Diego Police say they suspect DUI, but anyone with information is urged to contact authorities, who are still investigating.
