Los Angeles, CA (September 20, 2023) – The southbound lanes of the 405 Freeway in the Sepulveda Pass area were closed Wednesday morning after a fatal incident.
The Los Angeles Fire Department received a report of an accident on the interstate near Skirball Center Drive in Brentwood at around 4:45 a.m. When emergency crews arrived, they discovered a car had crashed into the rear of a trailer being towed by a semi.
According to an LAFD spokesman, one patient was declared deceased at the site. After the collision, all southbound lanes were blocked. Drivers were advised to use another route and stay away from the area.
The roadway has since reopened, but officials continue looking into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
