San Diego, CA (February 25, 2024) – Authorities reported that a pedestrian was killed on Interstate 5 Friday night after being struck by a vehicle. At approximately 11:45 p.m., the California Highway Patrol reports that a man was hit on northbound Interstate 5 north of Old Town Avenue.
The CHP stated that the man was struck by a white Subaru Soltera driven by a 51-year-old man from San Diego for reasons that are currently under investigation. The pedestrian sustained severe injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased by first responders at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing in the interim, however, and no further details were made available.
