How Long Do Victims Have to File a Wrongful Death Claim in California?
In California, most wrongful death claims must be filed within two years from the date of death. This deadline is part of the state’s statute of limitations, and missing it may prevent families from seeking compensation through the courts.
Wrongful death cases often involve medical costs, funeral expenses, and loss of financial support. A wrongful death lawyer can explain what legal options may be available and how deadlines apply.
