Los Angeles, CA (October 19, 2023) – A woman was apprehended after she reportedly hit a 12-year-old child on her way to school in Santa Ana and then fled the scene.
On Wednesday morning at around 8:10 a.m., a collision was reported in the 4400 block of West McFadden Avenue.
The girl was reportedly struck by a blue four-door automobile as she crossed McFadden, and the driver fled the scene. The girl was critically injured and reportedly had two operations on the same day. She remains hospitalized in the interim.
Police say they found the vehicle and detained the driver on Wednesday night after serving a search warrant at a residence in the 3600 block of West Kent Avenue.
