Los Angeles, CA (January 5, 2024) – A fire broke out at an apartment building in downtown Los Angeles on Friday, causing a man to suffer from serious burns. The Los Angeles Fire Department said that the fire started on the third story of a structure in the 500 block of East Seventh Street just after 5:30 a.m.
According to a statement from the department, the fire was put out by firefighters, and EMTs rushed the victim to a local hospital. Officials say the 69-year-old male victim sustained severe burns over 30% of his body, and he remains in serious condition at an area medical center. No other injuries were documented, though authorities continue to investigate the cause of the blaze.
