Los Angeles, CA (June 26, 2025) – A tragic early morning crash involving four vehicles claimed the lives of two pedestrians in South Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Officers with the LAPD’s Newton Division were dispatched to the intersection of Naomi Street and Olympic Boulevard at approximately 2:38 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, following reports of a multi-vehicle crash. Upon arrival, officers found two pedestrians who had suffered serious trauma. Emergency crews quickly transported three people from the scene to nearby hospitals. Sadly, two of them—both pedestrians—were later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The condition of the third individual transported remains unknown at this time. LAPD’s Central Traffic Division has taken over the investigation to determine what caused the deadly incident.
Details surrounding how the four vehicles became involved in the crash and what role each played remain under review. Police have not yet released the identities of the victims pending notification of their families. The intersection was closed off for several hours overnight while investigators worked to document the scene and speak with witnesses.
