Los Angeles, CA (September 13, 2023) – On Sunday night in South Los Angeles, a vehicle suspected of driving under the influence drove into a house, according to local authorities.
The collision occurred at 11:30 p.m. in Los Angeles’ Westmont district at the junction of 110th Street and Normandie Avenue.
Officers say a Mercedes SUV crashed through a metal gate and into the house. News footage showed a female passenger and her dog lying on the ground outside the wreckage and a man sitting behind the wheel of the SUV. Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics arrived on the site, though the total number of victims hurt or transported to the hospital is unknown.
California Highway Patrol troopers are handling the ongoing investigation.
