Bakersfield, CA (October 13, 2023) – Authorities have confirmed that a child was killed in a fire that broke out in an apartment on East 6th Street near Union Avenue late Friday night.
It was just after 9:00 p.m. when the Bakersfield Fire Department was called to the scene of an apartment fire in the city’s southeast area. Shortly after the fire was reported, Bakersfield police and fire crews arrived on the scene.
It is uncertain what caused the fire, and it is also unclear how many other individuals were hurt. However, police are looking into the incident.
