Los Angeles, CA – Motorcyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run on SR 67 at Willow Rd

Los Angeles, CA (May 19, 2025) – Authorities are investigating after a motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run collision on State Route 67 through Lakeside early Sunday morning, May 18.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred near the intersection of SR-67 and Willow Road around 1:10 a.m.

The motorcyclist was headed northbound through the intersection on a green light when it was hit by a 1998 Mitsubishi SUV. Per CHP, the SUV had made a left turn from SR-67 southbound against a red light towards Willow Road, moving directly into the path of the motorcycle.

As it turned out, the SUV clipped the front of the motorcycle, causing its rider to be ejected onto the roadway. The vehicle then continued left and crashed into the northeast corner traffic light, CHP says. The motorcyclist, identified as a 31-year-old Poway resident, sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, officers noted, but an investigation is ongoing. We offer our sincere sympatheis to the family of the deceased party.
