Los Angeles, CA (May 18, 2025) – Earlier this week, 45-year-old Todd Cawyer was killed in a pedestrian accident in the Westlake neighborhood, and another person suffered serious injuries when a car spun onto a sidewalk.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office released Cawyer’s identification on Friday, May 16. The incident occurred around 11:50 p.m. at the intersection of Eighth and Alvarado Streets, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Per authorities, a car going south on Alvarado Street struck a vehicle going west on Eighth Street. Two people were struck when the southbound car was thrown off the road and onto the southwest corner sidewalk by the force of the crash.
Todd Cawyer was declared deceased after paramedics took both pedestrians to a neighboring hospital. The second man’s status is unknown at this time, though he has received treatment for serious injuries. However, no further details were released in the meantime, and the investigation into the cause of the incident is still ongoing. Witnesses were asked to step forward as soon as possible.
