Long Beach, CA (December 9, 2023) – After hitting a woman in Long Beach, resulting in her death, authorities say the driver of the suspect vehicle fled the scene of the accident.
Long Beach Police Lieutenant Jonathan Cole said the collision happened in the 2700 block of Atlantic Avenue at 5:25 p.m. on Saturday. According to Cole, paramedics from the Long Beach Fire Department tried to save the woman’s life, but she passed away at the site. The adult male driver of the vehicle initially fled the scene, but he subsequently returned and aided the investigation, per authorities. It’s unclear if citations or charges will be filed, but an investigation is ongoing.
