Los Angeles, CA (October 1, 2023) – On Sunday night, October 1, a fiery collision caused by a wrong-way driver claimed at least one person’s life.
Just before 10:00 p.m., the Corona Fire Department and the California Highway Patrol were sent to the 91 and 15 freeways for a report of a wrong-way traffic accident. When police arrived, they discovered two cars, one of which was a Tesla, completely engulfed in flames.
The victim’s identification, whose death was confirmed at the scene, is being withheld awaiting contact with relatives.
The other driver’s condition is unclear.
Troopers with the California Highway Patrol are looking for witnesses to contact them in the interim.
