San Diego, CA (October 1, 2023) – On Friday, a house fire in the Mira Mesa area left one person dead and forced six others to relocate.
The blaze started at around 6:30 p.m. on Eridanus Court, in the 11400 block. The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department arrived as the blaze in a second-floor bedroom was reaching its last stages.
They heard an explosion while working, albeit it’s unclear where it came from or what caused it. One man was killed in the incident, and authorities did not say how many were injured.
The building’s other occupants were all able to safely flee before the fire spread. An investigation remains active in the meantime.
