Los Angeles, CA (May 26, 2025) – An elderly man died, and two police officers were injured after a car crash in Sun Valley on Monday, May 26, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The crash happened at around 1:57 p.m. near the intersection of Saticoy Street and Cleon Avenue. According to the LAPD, the officers were responding to a domestic abuse restraining order call when they collided with the gray Honda. Firefighters had to extricate the victim, identified only as a 70-year-old male, who was trapped in the car. They tried to render aid to the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The two officers, both 24 years old, were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. However, no further details were released as the CHP’s investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash remains ongoing.
