Long Beach, CA (December 24, 2025) – A man suffered serious injuries Sunday night, December 21, after a vehicle collided with a Metro A Line train in Long Beach, according to authorities.
The crash happened around 7:54 p.m. at the intersection of Long Beach Boulevard and Willow Street, where the Metro A Line runs through the center median. Long Beach Fire Department crews responded after reports of a train and vehicle collision.
Firefighters arrived and found the driver trapped inside the damaged vehicle. The department’s Urban Search and Rescue Task Force used the Jaws of Life to free the man, who is in his 30s. Paramedics then transported him to a nearby trauma center in serious condition.
Authorities said a female passenger inside the vehicle did not suffer injuries. Officials did not release details about how the collision occurred.
The investigation remains ongoing.
