San Diego, CA (July 5, 2025) – Two people walking in a crosswalk were hit by a vehicle on Saturday, July 5, in the Teralta West neighborhood.
The crash occurred around 5:06 p.m. in the 4200 block of Orange Avenue, the San Diego Police Department said in a news release. A 43-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man were attempting to cross from the north sidewalk of Orange Avenue to the south side in the crosswalk when a 2017 Hyundai Elantra, driven by a 19-year-old woman, attempted to make a left turn onto westbound Orange Avenue and struck the two pedestrians before coming to a stop, according to authorities.
The 43-year-old woman suffered a broken pelvis and had complaints of pain in her legs and back, while the 50-year-old man suffered lacerations to the back of his head and had complaints of pain in his neck. Alcohol was not determined to be a factor in the collision, but anyone with information about the crash is encouraged to call the listed command handling the investigation or Crime Stoppers.
