Lake Elsinore, CA (March 25, 2026) – A fatal multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 15 in Lake Elsinore left one person dead and four others injured on Tuesday afternoon, March 24, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred around 3:55 p.m. on the northbound lanes of I-15 just north of Main Street. Authorities say a 32-year-old Perris man driving a 2016 Toyota Tacoma crashed into the rear of a 2023 Kia Niro driven by a 37-year-old San Diego woman.
The initial impact triggered a chain-reaction crash involving several vehicles. After the first collision, the Kia veered into another lane, where a 2022 Dodge Ram 5500 towing a trailer struck it. The truck then hit a 2021 Toyota Highlander driven by a 69-year-old Lake man before continuing forward and striking a Honda Accord driven by a 38-year-old woman.
Emergency crews responded quickly and treated multiple victims at the scene. The San Diego woman suffered fatal injuries and died in the crash. The drivers of the Toyota Tacoma and Toyota Highlander sustained minor injuries and went to a nearby hospital for treatment. The remaining drivers received care at the scene.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
We offer our deepest condolences to the deceased woman’s family.
What Are Non-Economic Damages in a Fatal Accident Case in California?
Non-economic damages refer to compensation for losses that do not have a direct financial value, such as emotional suffering, loss of companionship, and the impact the death has on surviving family members.
Families often face significant emotional and personal loss after a fatal crash. A wrongful death lawyer can help explain how California wrongful death laws address these damages and how surviving relatives may pursue compensation for the harm they experience.
