Irvine, CA (August 5, 2024) – Troopers with the California Highway Patrol, along with Irvine PD officers, reported that a paralyzed man was killed when his former caregiver drove their minivan into an Irvine home on Monday morning.
Irvine Police Department spokesperson Kyle Oldoerp said the events began around 2:15 a.m. when police responded to the area of Whistling Swan and Wetstone in the Woodbridge neighborhood after a vehicle drove into a home. Someone inside the home called 911, and the police arrived to find an unidentified man dead at the scene. Officers later apprehended a suspect, who had fled the site of the collision on foot. However, an inquiry is still underway, and anyone who witnessed or has information about the crash is asked to contact the IPD.
