El Cajon, CA (December 19, 2024) – A man who died last week after being struck by a vehicle while walking across the street in El Cajon has been identified.
Richard Michael Santana, 63, was killed in the hit-and-run collision at 1368 East Main Street, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office. Around 5:15 p.m., authorities received a call about a pedestrian who had been struck by a truck.
Police say a white 2005 Dodge Ram was traveling westbound on Main Street when it hit the pedestrian who was crossing the roadway. The vehicle left the scene, but officers were able to gather information on the truck and the registered owner through the city’s Flock license plate reader system. That said, an investigation is still ongoing, and no further details were reported.
