Coronado, CA (March 19, 2026) – A bicyclist died after a vehicle struck him Tuesday afternoon, March 17, on a busy roadway in Coronado.
Emergency units responded around 1:35 p.m. after reports of a crash involving a bicycle and a vehicle. The accident happened on Silver Strand Boulevard at the intersection with Tulagi Road.
Officers arrived and found a 78-year-old man who had suffered severe injuries in the collision. Responders attempted life-saving measures with assistance from bystanders at the scene.
Despite those efforts, the cyclist died at the location from injuries suffered in the crash. Authorities have not yet released the man’s identity.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
