Banning, CA (August 10, 2024) – Cleanup continued on Thursday morning, August 7, after two big rigs crashed earlier that day on eastbound Interstate 10, east of Hargrave Street in Banning.
The crash, which was reported at 1:35 a.m., involved downed power lines and approximately 2,500 gallons of leaked fuel. Union Pacific Railroad stopped all train traffic in both directions, and Interstate 10 was partially closed, according to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department. It’s unclear if those injured were employees, customers, or a combination, though they received on-site medical care and those needing further examination were taken to area hospitals. Banning Police Department is investigating the incident. We hope the injured recover swiftly.
