Hawthorne, CA (August 9, 2024) – The westbound 105 Freeway was closed for several hours on Wednesday morning, August 7, while authorities investigated a crash involving a pedestrian who was struck and killed on the roadway.
The California Highway Patrol was alerted to the incident around 2:45 a.m. when someone reported a pedestrian down in one of the freeway lanes near Crenshaw Boulevard. The incident quickly turned into a fatality investigation when the pedestrian was declared dead at the scene. Traffic Division officers are investigating the crash at this time.
