Bakersfield, CA (October 26, 2023) – On Wednesday, an SUV driven by a Bakersfield man collided with a semi-truck just north of Panama Lane, resulting in the death of the Bakersfield man.
According to the CHP, the victim was driving south on Highway 43 in a Kia Sol when he was involved in a crash with a Freightliner driven by 32-year-old Daniel Alberto Moreno of Delano.
The 42-year-old Kia driver was declared deceased at the scene.
The other driver was injured, but he assured police he would get help on his own.
At 12:15 p.m., authorities were alerted of an accident that would shut down Highway 43 for many hours, but an investigation is ongoing.
