Anaheim, CA (December 24, 2023) – On Saturday night, December 23, a driver in Anaheim allegedly hit and killed a woman, and police say the suspect motorist was subsequently taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.
According to Sgt. Jon McClintock of the Anaheim Police Department said the collision took place on Saturday just after 6:20 p.m. on Brookhurst Street, north of Ball Road. Per McClintock, paramedics rushed the seriously wounded pedestrian to a hospital, but she later succumbed to her injuries.
The driver remained at the scene, and police say he was later detained on suspicion of DUI. Brookhurst Street was closed in both directions between Ball Road and Orange Avenue while officers completed their on-scene investigation.
