Ventura County, CA (February 16, 2026) – A small single-engine aircraft crashed into a drainage area behind homes in Ventura County on Sunday, February 15, leaving two people critically injured. The crash occurred near Carmen Drive and Lucero Street

The plane departed from Las Vegas International Airport shortly before 4:30 p.m. Flight tracking data shows the aircraft remained in the air for about one hour and forty-five minutes before it went down.

Fire crews arrived quickly and extricated the two occupants from the wreckage. Paramedics transported both individuals to nearby hospitals with severe injuries.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board responded and continue to review the cause of the accident.

We hope for a full recovery of both injured individuals.

What Key Documentation Should You Preserve to File an Injury Claim in California?

To file an injury claim in California after a plane crash, preserve medical records, hospital bills, flight details, insurance policies, and official investigation reports. These documents help show how the accident occurred and how the injuries affected daily life.

Medical evaluations, discharge summaries, and treatment plans create a clear timeline of care. Photographs of injuries and personal property damage can also support a claim. A personal injury attorney can review these records and explain what compensation may be available under California law.
