Santa Monica, CA (September 17, 2023) – A Santa Monica traffic officer and a suspected intoxicated driver were seriously injured in a crash earlier this week, according to local authorities.
On Wednesday afternoon, police officers responded to the corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and Yale Street. A black Audi allegedly slammed into a traffic cop’s motorbike.
The motorist was promptly taken into custody on suspicion of DUI. The cop was apparently ejected when the incident occurred and was rushed to the hospital after the crash.
Officers with the Santa Monica Police Department are still looking into the collision.
