Riverside, CA (September 17, 2023) – The California Highway Patrol is now investigating a deadly traffic accident that occurred on Thursday when a motorist smashed into a tree, killing one of the passengers in the vehicle.
A collision on Victoria Avenue was reported at about 11:00 p.m. The California Highway Patrol received a complaint about a driver who had left the roadway and hit a tree, but it is unknown whether any additional vehicles were involved.
The California Highway Patrol, Riverside Fire, and EMS personnel that arrived on the scene confirmed that a person had been ejected from the car. Firefighters arrived at the site and found the victim. The person was declared deceased shortly thereafter.
There has been no word on any other injuries, but an investigation into the crash’s cause is now underway.
