San Diego, CA (March 30, 2025) – Two people are dead after a car traveling the wrong way on the southbound Interstate 15 slammed into another car in the Deer Springs area early on March 30.
Dispatchers first started to receive calls about two drivers unconscious and trapped in their vehicles after a wrong-way collision just north of the Deer Springs exit at about 2:20 a.m. Sunday. Several other vehicles also hit debris that was scattered across freeway lanes, according to authorities.
Paramedics and other first responders were able to extricate the drivers from both vehicles, but both were pronounced dead. No further details are available at this time, but an investigation remains ongoing. We extend our sincere condolences to the families of the two deceased individuals.
