San Diego, CA (September 19, 2023) – A man was walking along Interstate 5 near downtown San Diego on Sunday night when he was struck and killed, according to the California Highway Patrol.
According to a press release from the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at 8:40 p.m. when a Nissan Altima struck a pedestrian who was walking in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5, north of State Route 163.
The man was pronounced dead at the hospital. The 26-year-old female motorist remained at the site and aided police with their inquiries.
Officers are continuing to conduct an investigation in the interim.
