Who Can File a Wrongful Death Claim in California?
In California, certain family members can file a wrongful death claim after a fatal accident. A surviving spouse, domestic partner, or child may be eligible to pursue a claim. Parents may also qualify if no other eligible survivors exist.
A wrongful death claim can seek compensation for funeral costs, lost financial support, and loss of companionship. Each case depends on the specific relationship between the claimant and the deceased.
