How Long Families Have to File a Wrongful Death Lawsuit in California

In California, families generally have two years from the date of death to file a wrongful death lawsuit. Missing this deadline typically eliminates the right to seek compensation through the courts.

A wrongful death lawyer can review the circumstances of the crash, identify liable parties, and explain what compensation may be available to surviving family members.
