San Diego, CA (May 3, 2024) –A 44-year-old pedestrian was killed by a suspected DUI driver in a collision Thursday night in the Colina Del Sol neighborhood, authorities reported Friday.
San Diego Police Lt. Clinton Leisz said officers were called to the intersection of 50th Street and El Cajon Boulevard at 9:10 p.m. The pedestrian suffered major head trauma in the collision and was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at around 9:35 p.m., Leisz said. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI, though the department’s Traffic Division is still investigating the collision at this time.
