Los Angeles, CA – Two Hospitalized After House Fire on Cherokee Ave

Los Angeles, CA (January 17, 2024) – Two people were seriously injured in a Hollywood house fire overnight on Wednesday, and a firefighter was also hurt when a flashover occurred. Los Angeles Fire Department crews were dispatched at 3:00 a.m. after reports of smoke in the area of the 1300 block of North Cherokee Avenue, where firefighters found a one-story single-family home with fire showing.

While extinguishing the flames, firefighters found two people trapped behind a security gate inside the structure. Officials then rescued two adult males who were both transported to a local hospital. One patient was critical, and the other was in serious condition, according to the LAFD. One firefighter sustained burns requiring immediate treatment, but all four members of the crew were ultimately transported for observation at the hospital.
