Los Angeles, CA (January 26, 2024) – On Friday night, an apartment building in the Koreatown neighborhood of Los Angeles was consumed by a large fire.
At approximately 4:50 p.m., fifty firefighters were dispatched to the two-story structure in the 115 block of South Catalina Street. Crews on the scene discovered thick smoke and flames emanating from the windows of the upper floors. At least one individual had to be rescued, while other residents evacuated their adjacent residences. A handful of victims were assessed for injuries, though it’s unclear how many people were hospitalized. At this time, the fire’s cause is being investigated.
