Los Angeles, CA (January 27, 2024) – On Saturday, the identity of a pedestrian who was killed when he was struck on the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway in the area of West Athens was released.
The victim, 30-year-old Austin Brooks, was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. Officer Sergio Garcia of the California Highway Patrol said officers responded to the westbound freeway near Vermont Avenue on Thursday and discovered Brooks at that time. The CHP issued a SigAlert regarding the two-hour closure of two lanes on the westbound freeway pending the completion of an investigation into the collision, though it’s unclear if the driver involved stayed at the scene.
