How Long Do You Have to File an Injury Claim in California?

California law sets strict time limits for filing injury-related claims. In most situations, individuals generally have two years from the date of the crash to file a personal injury claim. A car accident lawyer can prevent missing this deadline.

Shorter deadlines may apply in cases involving government vehicles. Claims against public entities often require early notice, sometimes within months. These rules make timely documentation especially important.

At Leiva Law Firm, we regularly help individuals understand claim deadlines and legal procedures. We can explain how timelines and insurance rules may apply.
