Can Families Recover Compensation After a Fatal Hit-and-Run in California?
In California, families may have legal options after a fatal hit-and-run crash. When a driver flees, uninsured motorist coverage may help cover losses. A civil lawsuit may also allow families to pursue damages if the driver is later identified.
Families may be able to seek compensation for funeral and burial costs, lost income, and medical expenses incurred before death. A wrongful death claim can also cover loss of financial support and companionship.
A wrongful death lawyer can investigate the crash, explain what compensation may be available, and guide you through the legal process.
