Camarillo, CA (December 19, 2025) – A driver lost their life Thursday afternoon, December 18, after a truck collided with a Metrolink train in Camarillo, according to Ventura County fire officials. The crash occurred at a railroad crossing on Las Posas Road near 5th Street.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene and found the truck heavily damaged near the tracks. Fire officials confirmed that the driver was the only person inside the vehicle. Paramedics pronounced the driver dead at the scene due to the severity of the injuries.
The train carried 16 people, including two crew members. None of the passengers or crew members suffered injuries.
Officers from the California Highway Patrol began examining evidence and gathering information to determine how the collision occurred. The investigation remains ongoing.
