Temecula, CA – Four Killed, Two Seriously Hurt in Accident on I-15 at Winchester Rd

Temecula, CA (August 24, 2025) – A major crash on Interstate 15 in Temecula left four people dead and two others seriously injured on Saturday night, August 23, authorities confirmed.

The collision occurred just after 9:30 p.m. when a black BMW M4 traveling northbound on I-15 near Winchester Road veered across the center median into oncoming traffic, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The car continued across the freeway, directly into the path of a white Nissan Sentra.

The Nissan struck the passenger side of the BMW, causing the BMW to catch fire and become fully engulfed in flames. The BMW driver, a 25-year-old man from Moreno Valley, was pulled from the burning vehicle. He suffered major injuries and was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center. Three passengers in the BMW were killed at the scene. They have been identified as a 23-year-old woman and two teens, a 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, all from Moreno Valley.

The driver of the Nissan, a 35-year-old man from Wildomar, died from his injuries while being transported to the hospital. His front-seat passenger, a 22-year-old man, was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center in critical condition. CHP officials say alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the crash. However, charges against the BMW driver are pending as the investigation continues.
