Menifee, CA (July 16, 2025) – Investigators worked on Tuesday to determine what caused a traffic crash that killed a 27-year-old motorcyclist in Lakeside.
The man, from the Sun City community of Menifee, was headed south on State Route 67 in Santee when his 2024 Harley-Davidson was in a collision. The motorcycle was involved in a crash with a 2006 Ford F-150 north of Woodside Avenue shortly before 9:00 p.m. on Monday, sending the rider tumbling onto the roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Witnesses tried to revive the motorcyclist before the arrival of paramedics, who assumed the life-saving attempts and took him to a hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. His name was withheld pending family notification. The driver of the pickup truck, a Lakeside man, 46, was unhurt, according to the CHP. It was not immediately clear what caused the fatal wreck. It is unknown whether drugs and/or alcohol were a factor in the crash, according to the CHP.
