Santa Clarita, CA (May 21, 2025) – A deadly multi-vehicle crash in Santa Clarita claimed the life of a 21-year-old off-duty Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy on Monday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash occurred around 3:17 p.m. on San Francisquito Canyon Road, just south of Dry Gulch Road. When officers arrived, they found three heavily damaged vehicles and multiple people injured.
The off-duty deputy sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. He had been with the Sheriff’s Department for just one year.
Several others involved in the crash were also transported to the hospital by ambulance, though their conditions have not been released. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
