San Diego, CA (September 25, 2024) – According to the California Highway Patrol, a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in the Fontana area on Tuesday morning, September 24, and troopers are looking for witnesses.
San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies arrived on San Bernardino Avenue near Banana Avenue around 6:00 a.m. to find a man lying on his stomach on a sidewalk. He was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
Officer Rodrigo Jimenez, a CHP spokesman, said investigators do not have any description of the vehicle that hit the man or its driver; however, he asked those with information on the collision to call the CHP. The investigation continues in the interim.
