Los Angeles, CA (November 28, 2023) – A head-on crash killed a 31-year-old Valencia resident on Monday afternoon, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office. Officer Josh Greengard of the California Highway Patrol’s Newhall Area Office confirmed that at around 5:15 p.m. on Monday, dispatchers from the agency reported an accident between a white Ram truck and a black Honda CRV on San Francisquito Canyon Road, north of Pelton Street.
Flames completely consumed the Ram, and the Honda was on its side with a group of people trapped inside, according to Greengard. Per CHP officers, the Ram’s driver and passenger managed to free themselves from the wreckage before the fire grew out of control. Serious injuries were sustained by the Ram driver, while the passenger in the vehicle reported minor wounds on his right knee. At 6:30 p.m., paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department declared that a 31-year-old woman died due to the severe injuries she suffered. The cause of the San Francisquito accident is still being determined.
