Los Angeles, CA (December 4, 2023) – Firefighters extinguished a fire in a two-story duplex in Hyde Park on Monday and reported victim injuries, per local authorities. At least 32 firefighters responded to the scene in the 4700 block of Eighth Avenue around 2:00 p.m. Monday, and the blaze was extinguished in 12 minutes, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange. Prange said one person was assessed at the scene and transferred to a local medical center, but the severity of their injuries is unknown.
It was unclear what sparked the fire, and the cause was under investigation.
