Lake Mathews, CA (January 9, 2026) – A head-on crash left one motorist injured on Thursday, January 8, near the community of Lake Mathews, according to officials. The collision happened just after 1:00 p.m. at the intersection of Harley John Road and Cajalco Road.
Two vehicles collided at the intersection at unconfirmed speeds. Both vehicles suffered moderate damage as a result of the impact. Emergency crews arrived within minutes and began assisting those involved.
Fire department paramedics found one motorist with minor injuries at the scene. Medical teams provided care and then transported the injured person to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley for further evaluation. Officials said the patient was in stable condition.
