West Covina, CA (June 5, 2024) – The California Highway Patrol said that, during the early hours of Wednesday morning in the city of West Covina, a vehicle exited the 10 Freeway after an accident, colliding with a fence barrier and crashing into an apartment complex.
Before 4:30 a.m., CHP troopers and West Covina Fire Department personnel responded to the incident at the West Pacific Avenue exit of the westbound 10 Freeway. A woman riding as a passenger in one of the vehicles was transported to the hospital with a broken leg, among other injuries. Meanwhile, one of the drivers involved, identified only as a woman of unknown age, was apprehended at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence. It’s unclear if any other injuries were recorded in the incident, though the accident is still under investigation.
